Product Description
After her brother dies in a trauma room, nurse Claire Avery can no longer face the ER. She's determined to make a fresh start--new hospital, new career in nursing education--move forward, no turning back. But her plans fall apart when she's called to offer stress counseling for medical staff after a heartbreaking day care center explosion. Worse, she's forced back to the ER, where she clashes with Logan Caldwell, a doctor who believes touchy-feely counseling is a waste of time. He demands his staff be as tough as he is. Yet he finds himself drawn to this nurse educator . . . who just might teach him the true meaning of healing.

1 out of 5 stars Why does it take so long to ship?   September 3, 2010

Order placed Aug 30th directly through Amazon and it says it won't be shipped till 9/7/10. Why? I placed an order through Yankee-clipper-books and it was shipped already, when the order was placed 9/1/10. I am concerned because my last day at this address is 9/20/10. And I may not get my books. Thank you, Kyla Schneyder RN

I have an Amazon Kindle as I have mentioned in the past. I haven't bought one single book yet, because they have free publications all of the time. Well, I just finished reading Critical Care (Mercy Hospital, Book 1) and it was great. I about couldn't put the kindle down to do other things, like blogging, cleaning my house, and all of the important things :) I love the story, it makes you feel hopeful of things in life. Dr McSnarly will completely surprise you along with Claire and the one eared cat. Even if I wouldn't have received this for free I would consider buying it. I hope that everyone that reads this gets as much enjoyment out of it as I did.

2 out of 5 stars I really tried very hard to like this book   August 25, 2010

because I'm a grey's anatomy fan so I really wanted to like this book but I had a hard to. I stopped half way through the book because the plot gets really unfocused. I thought this was supposed to be about romance but there seems to be very little chemistry between the two main characters, it's as if the guy was attracted to the girl only because she "fits right in his arms" and then he was confused about what to do with the girl because she believes in god. I haven't got to the end yet but I'm pretty sure that it will end with the guy finally find his faith in god and fall in love with girl. I know this is supposed to be some kind of christian novel but the way the author tries to integrate god in to the story just seems rather unnatural and I get annoyed by it. anyway, I think the story has potential to be something good and interesting but author just couldn't get it right.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Read   August 19, 2010

I got the Kindle version, and I loved the book. The characters and setting were very interesting and informative. I hated to see the story come to an end, and look forward to other books by Candace Calvert. It is a joy to read a good book with Christian values that doesn't have curse words and crude romance details. I highly recommend this to other readers.

I loved this book Candace Calvert hooked me from the first page and it was a hard book to put down. I love the way Claire Avery handles the fact that she didn't want ot be an ED nurse any longer, but was thrown into the system and she did a good job of handling the issues of an ED. I look forward to more books by Cabndace Calvert
